Energy Bill Cloture Defeated

The Senate just failed to pass cloture on the Anti-Energy Bill, 59-40.  They needed 60 votes.  Harry Reid has said he will drop the controversial tax title and bring the bill back, which will probably pass then.  So a small victory, but probably not a long-lasting one, for keeping energy and cars affordable.  The President has advised he will veto the bill, and that is likely even with the tax title dropped, although it remains to be seen whether the dropping of that title can attract enough Senators to override a veto.
