The Corner

Era by Any Other Name

Rep. Paul Ryan may call it “The Legislative Line Item Veto Act,” but that’s just a cheap marketing ploy for the unsophisticated. We on The Corner know it by its true name: enhanced rescission authority! Yet as the Poet once said, “enhanced rescission authority by another name is just as sweet” (or something like that). Anyway, Ryan’s testimony is worth reading — and his bill is worth supporting, unless of course you think Congress is the very embodiment of fiscal discipline.
