Even If All of the Remaining Uncounted Votes Are for Kari Lake, Katie Hobbs Would Still Win

Updating this post from yesterday, in Arizona’s governor’s race, Democrat Katie Hobbs now leads Republican Kari Lake by 16,780 votes. The state estimates that there are 10,663 potential votes left to count, a combination of early votes yet to be counted, provisional ballots left to be validated, and other regularly-cast Election Day ballots yet to be counted.

In other words, even if all of the remaining votes were for Kari Lake, Hobbs would still win the election by about 6,000 votes.

The message from the Lake campaign is that that the issues with the voting machines in Maricopa County disenfranchised tens of thousands of Arizonans who would have voted for Lake and put her over the top. In their minds, the election is invalid, and Arizona should “redo” the election.
