The Corner

Everyone Won!

At least according to the campaign spokesmen doing their work in the Spin Room just now. And it’s hard to argue with what any of them said about the top candidates. The McCain camp said McCain was good on the economy and always excels on national security, where the other candidates basically ape his lines. The Romney people–who seem increasingly confident about Florida–said Romney was authoritative and fluid, and without much squabbling among the candidates, could address the voters directly with his message. The Rudy people were pleased that Rudy got to talk about the CAT fund–which they maintain is a huge issue for Floridians–and had a good night overall. Given all that, though, the advantage had to go to Romney and McCain who are probably tied at the top in this state and now seem mostly content to present their strengths to voters and have them vote on that basis. Rudy presumably had to make something big happen, and didn’t.
