Some bloke in France has computed π to 2.7 trillion places of decimals. This beats the previous record, a paltry 2.6 trillion, achieved in Japan last year.
Where are our own π-calculators in all this? Come on, America, take up the challenge! We may not have any manufacturing industry left, but surely we can produce a few trillion digits of π just as well the garlicky cheese-eaters of France or the dwindling population of Japan? U.S.A.! U.S.A.!
In the meantime, should you want a million digits of π to put on your wall, here’s the place to shop.
