Exit Polls

Two years ago, I left the DC office of National Review, late in the afternoon, fully convinced that John Kerry would be elected president — because that’s what the exit polls were indicating. On the train ride home, I jotted down a list of reasons why Kerry had won and Bush had lost. Later that night, I threw it out.
