So Romney is increasing his ad buy in SC. Romney wants to set expectations low — very low — but if he actually lets McCain win, there is a great danger that McCain will be sworn in as president next January. (UPDATE: Please do not, as some readers have, read anything sinister into that last line — I just meant the expression to speak from Romney’s perspective.)
Then again, maybe South Carolina will not decide anything. In which case, we can all fool ourselves once more and say that it will all be decided in Florida. And we’ll keep saying it each week until, before you know it, we’re at the brokered convention, which even Rick Santorum thinks we might have.
