Expectations

Bill Kristol has written an interesting blogpost on President Obama’s statement on the death of Sharon. That statement is too puny, too nose-holding, almost insulting, says Bill. I agree with every word he says. (Bill, that is.) But I’ll tell you what I told him: I was surprised that Obama did as well, frankly. “Life is an expectations game,” people say. I guess I don’t hold Obama in very high regard at this point. (I am trying to write with restraint.) And, again, I was surprised he did as well as he did.

And just think: Even Obama’s puny, minimal statement is probably considered in his Said-Khalidi circles a Zionist atrocity. Or one of those evils that go with the territory of being president.
