Dionne Jr. writes that “the Republican Party is now wholly owned by the conservative movement” with “moderates” having been driven “extinct.” Has anything similar happened on the Democratic side? Not at all. It’s just that “[r]ight-wing Democrats have been replaced by moderates with a greater sense of solidarity with the rest of the party.”
