In this article (an English report on a Spanish-language newpaper story), the Mexican consul in San Jose, Calif., says Mexicans who have become U.S. citizens (and, incidentally, sworn to renounce all prior allegiances) are attracted

to dual citizenship in order to be able to use a Mexican passport and thus

avoid anti-Americanism abroad. “There is no rejection of a Mexican

passport. If one has to travel, it’s better to do it with a Mexican

passport,” he said.
