Earlier today, David Gregory, the moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press, called out Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the head of the Democratic National Committee, for spinning the Obama administration’s economic record.
After reading a troubling list of economic facts, Gregory asked Wasserman Schultz why Americans should “trust” Democrats and President Obama on the economy.
Democrats should be trusted, Wasserman Schultz said, since “we were able to, under President Obama’s leadership, turn this economy around.”
“Whoa, whoa,” Gregory chuckled. “Let me just stop you there. Clearly, the economy has not been turned around. You just saw the numbers.”
Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, sitting beside Wasserman Schultz, said that congresswoman was “living in fantasy land.”
