Fatherless Family Lines

Word of the De Bruijn triple wedding in The Netherlands first came to the English speaking world through The Brussels Journal. Now, in a post called, The War Against Marriage and Men, Alexandra Colen at Brussels Journal has some interesting thoughts on my “Here Come the Brides” piece.” Halfway through the Colen post you need to scroll down past a large gap. But it’s worth it, because you’ll reach a picture of the Regnier family (one husband, three wives, and thirty children). I discuss this family in Here Come the Brides. The chilling thing about Colen’s post is it’s depiction of a line of family descent that effectively and consistently excludes fathers.
