An email in response to this post from last night:
That Damon Linker article you linked was even worse than you suggested. He thinks it was a political mistake for Obama to fall for the pro-lifers’ “trap” and vote against the Born-Alive Act. But what’s the trap? He could have just voted for it. Linker says that it just replicates existing law. If it doesn’t add anything new, how does it do anything that threatens Roe? Part of his article has to be wrong. But sure, pro-lifers are terrible people for asking Obama to vote–at least present!–on a bill.
