Fighting All His Life

Today on Uncommon Knowledge, why, a dozen years after the enactment of Proposition 209, Ward Connerly keeps at it, fighting, now, for anti-preference measures on the ballot in Colorado and Nebraska.

Peter Robinson:  Your ancestry is part African-American and part American Indian.  Ward, that’s like hitting the affirmative action jackpot.  Why don’t you just go along with affirmative action, for goodness’s sake?  It’s in your interest and the interest of all your offspring.

Ward Connerly:  I grew up in the Deep South.  All my life I fought against the notion that my skin color suggested something about me. And it would betray everything that I believed in if I were to change that now.
