Finally, Attention to The Avian Menace

As others have taken credit for helping to bring down the Miers nomination, I will claim at least my share, if not a good deal more, of thanks for alerting this administration to the danger that threatens from above. President Bush’s speech this morning announcing federal funding of bird flu vaccines is a good start (and in all seriousness, quite needed), but I further urge the government to not ignore the Winged Ones’ secret communications program and unusual travel activities. Migration, my butt! You underestimate us at your own risk, birds.
