. . . for the cowards and miscreants at the University of Missouri to rid themselves of Professor Melissa Click. Apparently, committing criminal assault on an undergraduate isn’t enough. Why should we believe that public misbehavior will be enough?
The only thing that is clear in this sorry episode is that Mizzou is run by people who have no self-respect and no respect for the institution with which they are entrusted. The evidence suggests very strongly that the administration is, at heart, on the side of professors who assault students, provided that the political motive for doing so is the right one. The evidence suggests that the administration is on the side of those who scream profane abuse at police officers. Sure, the First Amendment protects your right to say what you like about the police, but try doing what Professor Click did in your work place and see if you keep your job.
See if you can take a physical swat at a random college student and stay out of jail.
Donors, parents, students, and appropriators in the Missouri legislature should take note.
