I am loathe to disagree with Michael Ledeen as he is smarter than me and a real historian in his own right. But, I got fischer’s point. I liked (some of) his stories. But the “open governments are better than bunkers” theme struck me as a good point which could have fit nicely in a larger argument. I like arguments. Indeed, that’s why I love and miss AEI so much. It is one of the finest argument factories in the free world (and the unfree world doesn’t allow argument factories).
