Despite President Obama’s promises, more Americans are learning that they will not be able to keep their current health-insurance plans under Obamacare, including Florida resident Dianne Barrette.
Last month, Blue Cross Blue Shield informed Barrette that her current plan would cost ten times as much starting next year, which she couldn’t afford. Even though she is probably eligible for federal subsidies, she explained to CBS that, because of the dysfunctional Healthcare.gov site, she doesn’t know how much she’s eligible to receive.
“What I have right now is what I’m happy with,” Barrette told CBS. “I just want to know why I can’t keep what I have — why do I have to be forced into something else?”
Barrette is one of at least 300,000 Floridians losing their plans.
