Flip-Flopping

Ifill’s question misses the point. A real flip-flop — it seems to me — is when you change your mind and then change it back again. There’s nothing wrong with changing your mind, if you can defend it. The problem with Kerry is that he changes his mind, then changes it back. This means his judgement on the merits was never the issue. It was his judgement about the politics.
