Fox News reports:

The U.S. now has a majority of states with constitutional carry laws on the books after Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law Monday that eliminates the requirement for an individual to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm.

As many have noted, Florida’s switch means that there are now 26 states where eligible residents are not obliged to obtain a permit before they may carry a concealed firearm. But more impressive than the raw numbers, perhaps, is that 25 of these 26 have added themselves to the list since 2003. Vermont’s rule was imposed judicially; since 1903, its state constitution has been interpreted to prohibit the requirement of concealed-carry permits. Every other state has passed the change through its legislature. Sometimes, conservatives do win political battles.
