With about 98 percent of precincts reporting, Rep. Don Young has pulled slightly ahead in Alaska’s GOP primary — the current count puts him in front of Lt. Gov Sean Parnell by 145 votes, out of more than 90,000 cast. (Track returns here.) If Young prevails, the GOP will have yet another vulnerable House seat to defend, rather than the slam dunk that Alaska’s at-large district ought to be.

In the last few days, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee dumped some money into the race to bash Parnell, fearing that Parnell could win and be a tougher opponent in the general election.
