On Friday, Fox News ran a segment on a so-called transgender child, Ryland, from California, who, according to her parents, before she could even speak communicated to them that she was really a boy.
As well as the usual nonsense, the segment promoted trans activists’ claim that not endorsing a child’s proclaimed gender identity causes self-harm in “over 60 percent of transgender and nonbinary youth.”
Oddly, however, no mention was made of the long-term harms of puberty-blocking drugs, cross-sex hormones, and transition surgeries, which can cause osteoporosis, infertility, loss of sexual function, and becoming a lifetime medical patient.
