Fred Thompson in ‘Baby’s Day Out’

Don’t be dissing Baby’s Day Out. I interviewed Fred Thompson just after the filming of Baby’s Day Out back in the 90s and he was inordinately — and properly — proud of his wonderfully deadpan performance in the movie about a toddler who reenacts the plot of his favorite book. Thompson, playing an FBI agent, delivered what he considered the finest line of his career, barking orders on the phone to a team of police officers: “We’re going back to the tick-tock to get the boo-boo.”
