President Bush has declared today, May 21, “A Day of Solidarity with the Cuban People” to recognize those who are suffering in Cuba, especially Cuba’s political prisoners. Since NRO has a long history of being a strong voice for the rights of the Cuban people and political prisoners, particularly Dr. Oscar Biscet, I thought your DC readers might be interested in a rally that is being organized today by pro-democracy groups as part of the Global Cuba Solidarity Movement. The DC event will be one of more than 70 events around the world in more than 30 countries, including on the island itself. It will be held at 12:30 in Freedom Plaza (14th St. and Pennsylvania Ave., NW). More information on other worldwide events or the political prisoners in general can be found at www.solidaridadcuba.org.
