Freudian Slip-Up

Matthew Franck (of Bench Memos fame) e-mails:

Over the weekend I saw a version of this AP story in my local paper.  This line in particular caught my eye: “Only 14 percent of Catholics between 20 and 40 attend Mass at least weekly, according to a study by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostate at Georgetown University.”

“Applied Research in the Apostate”?  An interesting undertaking, to be sure.  But the Center at Georgetown is actually called the “Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate,” which indicates an interest somewhat different . . . albeit overlapping!
