A Friendly Warning to Iran

Here is what, believe it or not, they are reading in Kashmir about the Israeli campaign in Southern Lebanon and its broader regional implications. From a Kashmir Times editorial:

Iran … should take into cognizance the fact that, in the bad real world we are living in, might usually triumphs over right, as it has recently done in Afghanistan and Iraq and is going to triumph in Lebanon, also. So, taking lessons from the reality around, Iran should be less provocative, must not make it difficult for China and Russia to support it, and must take measures to avoid the ferocity of American aggression. After all, instances are there to prove that if the sole super-power decided to take action none will come forward to save the victim, in the name of right and justice. So, with all India’s support for Iran’s right to enrich uranium, India would request it to be more realistic and, hence, restrained.

Essentially, the newspaper argues that because big-bad America is “behind” the Israeli attacks, they will succeed. Thus Iran should fear imminent American or Israeli attacks and change its nuclear-development policies. Would that this were all true.
