It seems to me that conservatives stick with President Bush owing in part to their admiration for a politician who sticks with them. As conservatives weigh the ‘08 prospects, Senator Frist has provided an example of a different kind of politician. The fact that Senator Frist’s explanation for his reversal is incoherent underscores its political expediency which is not a characteristic conservative voters typically look for in a candidate – regardless of the issue.
