I was glad that Ian cited the Iranian foreign minister’s words about his government’s reason for being. This is poorly understood in America and throughout the West. The Khomeinists don’t give a damn about Iran — about some nation called “Iran.” They have much bigger fish to fry. They are after leadership of the Muslim world and domination of other countries.
The Imam (Khomeini) himself put it unforgettably: “We did not carry out this revolution to lower the price of watermelons.” No, no. Or as Jesse Jackson would say: They’re “tree shakers, not jelly makers.” (Remember that one?)
