The Corner

Fun in Ol’ Blighty

I normally don’t travel for speaking gigs without compensation. Someday that sentence will read “without lavish compensation.” But I’ve made a special exception. The Oxford Union has invited me to come to England next month and debate the pressing question of whether or not America should have ever been born. The question before the house:

THIS HOUSE REGRETS THE FOUNDING OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The debate will be timed to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown and the Queen’s visit here. NR is picking up some of my travel and, in exchange, I will be writing about the whole thing for the magazine. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to it. I could use a tan and some really good food.

Homework suggestions welcome. Details TK.
