In applying a more libertarian attitude to adults who wish to remove or manipulate sexual organs (than one does to so-called transgender children), it’s important to remember that they, too, are a vulnerable patient population deserving of high-quality care.
Ritchie Herron is suing Britain’s National Health Service for their facilitation of what he now calls “the biggest mistake of his life.” Herron was struggling with his homosexuality and had mental-health issues. He thought so-called “gender confirmation surgery” would be a magic fix. It wasn’t. Stories like his are heartbreaking. And a reminder that gender-confused adults also deserve better care.
