Will argues that there isn’t much difference between Bush’s policy and Frist’s, that Frist is drawing a bright line between what he permits and the truly awful policy of creating human embryos to take their stem cells, and that Frist deserves the benefit of the doubt as to his motives. Will doesn’t actually defend Frist’s policy. In the next few posts, I’ll offer some criticisms of Will’s column and some thoughts inspired by it.
