The Corner

Georgia on My Mind

Has anyone else in the Corner been to Gori? I went there on a Moonie-sponsored junket in the mid-eighties, just before Gorbachev launched Peristroika. We drove out from Tbilisi to see Stalin’s birthplace. In some drawer I have a button I bought there that shows it (no mugs, caps or calendars).

During our Civil War, both the Union and the Confederacy agreed to conduct no operations at Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. I trust Putin and Medvedev have instructed their soldiers to show the same respect for the cradle of Koba.
