A reader responded to my post yesterday about immigration contributing to the decline in teen employment, and the resulting lost opportunities for socialization into the culture of work:
Your final comment: “But don’t worry, it’ll all work out” seems rather cynical.
Of course it will all work out. By the time our teens are working professionals, they’ll all be employed by the government, and won’t have to worry about showing up on time, following directions, completing tasks, working hard or dealing politely with customers taxpayers.
