Gingrich: Let’s Hold Gun-Control Hearings in Chicago

This morning on State of the Union’s political panel, former speaker Newt Gingrich suggested that Congress should hold hearings regarding proposed gun-control legislation in the city of Chicago. He explained that the city has some of the toughest gun restrictions in the country, yet remains “the murder capital of the United States,” and noted that the mayor is a close adviser and associate of President Obama.

Gingrich stated that such hearings would examine the idea of gun control as a crime “panacea,” and would be a “very useful exercise on a nonpartisan basis.” We shall see.
