The movie delivers on Kong slurping up the guts of monsters that he has killed, which I assume accounts for the film’s box-office success. But, man, the mumbo-jumbo that’s supposed to explain what’s happening is utterly incomprehensible. And, especially for a monster movie, the politically correct romanticization of indigenous people is off the charts; it makes Dances with Wolves seem tough-minded by comparison. By the end, you’re a little embarrassed for poor Kong and Godzilla.
