Goldwater: Ron Paul ‘Stands a Great Chance’

Ames, Iowa – Former congressman Barry Goldwater Jr. tells National Review Online that Ron Paul “stands a great chance” of winning today’s straw poll. “People are starting to realize that Ron is talking the truth,” he says. He compares the Texan to his father, the former presidential nominee. “Back in 1964, my father was considered on the fringe. Eventually, his definition of a republic became the main definition for the Republican party. It’s continued on, but it’s kind of been a rocky road. Ron Paul is taking that banner back up.”
