At a conference last week, I saw about 8 minutes of that new Charlotte’s Web movie (release date: Dec. 20)–the crowd loved it. The next morning, one woman told me how she cried during a particular sad scene. The book, by the way, is quite good; it’s the first novel-length book without pictures that I successful read to my oldest kid at bedtime. E.B. White is one of the most economic of prose stylists–i.e., he avoids unnecessary words.
