Byron’s column today is entitled “To House GOP, illegal immigration is a jobs issue.” He contrasts Judiciary Committee chairman Lamar Smith, who “is steering away from some of the hottest-button immigration issues,” with “other GOP voices on the Judiciary Committee are speaking more forcefully on those hot-button issues,” like Steve King.
Rather than any conflict, though, I think this can be a productive arrangement, where the enthusiast shakes the tree, and the quieter inside player picks up the fruit.
