Asked about what exceptions he favors in an abortion ban, he challenged reporters to ask DNC chairman (and Representative) Debbie Wasserman Schultz “if she’s okay with killing a seven-pound baby that is just not yet born yet.” Her response: “Here’s an answer. I support letting women and their doctors make this decision without government getting involved. Period. End of story.” And Senator Paul came back: “Sounds like her answer is yes, that she’s okay with killing a seven-pound baby.” It certainly does sound like that. She deserves credit, I suppose, for logical consistency: The baby’s weight can’t be what matters, after all.
