Good Work, W.

Derb, my “error” was responding to this that you wrote:

The high incidence of AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa is caused by customary practices there. What is needed is for people to change those customary practices. Instead, at a cost of billions to the U.S. taxpayer, we have made it possible for Africans to continue in their unhealthy, disease-spreading habits.

The Bush administration brought an unprecedented media and aid focus to just that — programs that focus on behavior change.  Yes, even while paying for treatments, too. Programs that focus on behavior education have been at the heart of what George Bush speaks most passionately about, including in his book. That’s good. That’s to be encouraged. And that even seems to be something you’d like about him, despite everything else you dislike about him.
