From a reader:
Jonah,
I’d love for you to look up (and comment on) some of the governing documents
of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and see if John Winthrop and the like
escaped Europe to start a secular government, or one of divine-moral
underpinnings. Or, how about when Roger Williams left Massachusetts and
founded Rhode Island-Providence, Rhode Island, that is (named because he
said it was God’s Providence that brought him there). Of course Williams
was more tolerant of religious pluralism, but he still, as founder of a
colony and future state, started the first Baptist church in America.
Wonder if present day New Englanders realize that their founders had more in
common with Jerry Falwell than George Soros?
There are only 12 cylon models.
