Governor Bob McDonnell (R., VA) insisted that it was time to “get the job done” on the sequester on CBS’s Face the Nation this morning. He explained that, “the sequester was put in place to be a hammer, not a policy.” Governor McDonnell acknowledged that while “you have to cut, because we’re in bad shape, $17 trillion in debt. . . don’t put fifty percent of the cuts on defense. Don’t put it on our men and women in uniform while we’re still fighting in Afghanistan.”
