Gov. David Paterson is offering developers of an Islamic cultural center and mosque near Ground Zero state land, if they agree to move the mosque further away from the World Trade Center site.
Paterson says he doesn’t object to building the mosque two blocks away, at Park Place, but he understands those who disagree.
“If the sponsors were looking for property anywhere at a distance that would accomodate a better feeling among the people who are frustrated, I would look into trying to provide them with the state property they would need,” Paterson says.
And, yes, Barry Lynn is advising against.
