A motorcycle escort of 1000 current and retired members of the New York City Fire Department accompanied a cross wrought from steel from the World Trade Center to a memorial site in Shanksville, PA., where Flight 93 was brought down by the heroic passengers and crew on 9/11.
New York’s Bravest presented the fourteen-foot, two-ton steel cross to the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department for placement in a base shaped like the Pentagon. On Sunday, a memorial service was held to honor the victims.
