One thing not mentioned is the HEAT in the attics. Attics, even in places like new York, regularly go over 100 degrees in the summer. In a hot enviroment like NO, that temp can reach 120 to 140. That heat kills, especially if you have no water. If you’re not able top break through the roof – which is NOT easy – the heat will kill you.

I worked as a carpenter on homes for many years. The thought of having to work in an atic in the summer – to build things like dormers – was dreaded by all who did it – because of the heat.
