Another thing I’ll remember about Bill is his good humor–in my mind’s image of him, he’s smiling, as if he has just cracked a joke. He did a lot of that. He had a lively wit and it was impossible not to laugh along with him. This infectious style is one of the reasons he became conservatism’s great evangelist.
