Not that it’s particularly important, but Haggard (like Rick Warren, etc.) was one of those babyboomer megachurch ministers lurching left on Global Warming etc. to be “compassionate” and distance himself from the “Old Guard” of the Religious Right. I feel terrible for him and his family, but I was always annoyed by the cruchy-con-like preening, particularly b/c some of them got my pastor/boss to sign their stupid “Evangelical Climate Initiative” rather deceptively, and we had to go through a lot to get his name off…Guess human frailty affects moderates too…
