Jpod, Andy — what could muddle the standards for entry into Cooperstown more than this fact: 13 of this year’s voters didn’t consider Tony Gwynn up to snuff, and eight decided Cal Ripken wasn’t worthy of enshrinement.  Meanwhile, many voices on sports talk radio complain that “character” and “morality” shouldn’t be an issue, as if McGwire is accused of cheating on his wife.  Of course, that’s not the case; he’s accused of cheating on the game.
