Harris Out

So Katherine Harris won’t be running for the Senate this year. That makes sense for her and for Bush–the last thing either of them needs is a daily rehash of the 2000 Florida vote and her allegedly partisan role in it. But have you ever seen such hype surrounding a decision not to go forward? Just a couple of days ago, there were reports that she was going to get in. Now it looks like she’s going to run against Democratic Sen. Nelson in 2006. My guess is that what she’s really trying to do is clear the field, as best she can two years in advance, for that race. This year’s GOP primary in Florida is really crowded.
