Has the GOP Checked the Couch Cushions?

The Republican Party’s embrace of the King of Debt has cascaded downward across the country. As Trump siphons off donor money for his ever-expanding web of legal troubles and responsible leaders flee the party, many state parties have been left footing the bill.

The Arizona Republican Party has $50,000 on hand, in large part because of expensive 2020 election lawsuits the party apparatus has waged on behalf of the former president. In Michigan, questions regarding the party’s financial and political future led to blows being exchanged between two members. And in Minnesota the situation has become so dire that the party reported having just $53.81, compared with $335,000 in outstanding debts.

You read that right. For the price of a new Xbox game, you, too, can own your own state party. Shockingly, becoming sycophants for an infamous financial leech has predictable outcomes.
